STEINWAY TEACHER & EDUCATIONAL PARTNER PROGRAMME
Steinway & Sons have been actively supporting music education for the last 167 years, and believe education is essential in nurturing musicians and creating a musically active society.
Our role is to assist students and their families in making the best decision in instrument investment for their musical journey. The Steinway Teacher & Educational Partner Programme is designed for piano teachers with resources and facilities to enhance their teaching experience and grow their piano studio.

Use of the showroom for Student recitals
Lewis Eady Steinway Showroom is available for STEP Teachers to hold student recitals free of charge. STEP Teachers will have priority over Hub Members.
Invitations to Workshops, Masterclasses & Concerts
STEP Teachers will always be the first to be invited to workshops, masterclasses and concerts held or sponsored by Steinway & Sons and Lewis Eady. It includes educational opportunities such as Steinway Artist events and STEP Partner Seminars tailored for STEP Teachers and your students.
Special Teacher Pianos
Steinway & Sons can offer ‘special teacher pianos’ to piano teachers. They are; Steinway AS-188, Steinway MT170, Boston GP178TE and Essex EUP123EK.
Up to 5 years in-house financial package is available exclusively to STEP Teachers.
Doretta Steinway University
Steinway & Sons will invite STEP Teachers to attend the Doretta Steinway University event. It is an excellent opportunity for teachers who are interested in continuing education. The courses are held by scholars, experts, and piano pedagogy in music education.
Steinway Technician Services
We are offering special pricing on technical services for STEP Teachers from our in-house Steinway technician.
Student in the Spotlight
Lewis Eady will organise a 'Student in the Spotlight' recital each year where your best student can attend and perform for free at our chosen venue.
Steinway Music Culture Tour for Music Teachers and their Students
Tours tailored for STEP Teachers and their students to visit Steinway New York factory and Steinway Hamburg factory. There are also opportunities to experience world-class venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, etc.
Commission on Piano Sales generated from Piano Referrals
Each STEP Teacher is required to provide a minimum of one piano referral a year. Lewis Eady will give support and resources, making the referral process as easy and comfortable as we can.
Application Process
Piano Teachers will need to complete the application form below and return it to Lewis Eady with an attached copy of tertiary level qualification and photo. Our preference is to assess the 'Steinway Education Partner' applications within New Zealand and then send a recommendation letter to Steinway & Sons for approval and issue the Steinway Education Partner Certificate.
